The oak and clean lines of this design evokes an arts-and-crafts feel, but the elliptical table tops soften the look, and also are safer and more comfortable in high-traffic areas like living rooms where the sharp edges of arts-and-crafts tables can cause problems. The drawer in the sofa table is a great place for remote controls. Any woods can be used; I would recommend a primary wood for larger horizontal surfaces with an accent wood used for the vertical members.
